Got a finished CAD file, a rough concept, or a part that needs to be tested before you spend real money on tooling and production? Send it over. LVE RAD can help turn the idea into a printed prototype, functional test part, fabrication tool, or low-volume production component built around the material, size, strength, and finish your project demands.
Rapid Prototyping
> High-resolution 3D scanning to reverse-engineer chassis, mounts, and OEM surfaces for a perfect fit, every time.
Need to see it, test it, bolt it on, beat on it, or prove the fit before committing to production? LVE RAD provides in-house additive manufacturing and rapid-prototyping services built to move ideas out of CAD and into your hands fast.
From a first-pass concept model to a functional vehicle component, fabrication fixture, prototype enclosure, fitment tool, or short-run production part, we use professional enclosed FDM printers and engineering-grade materials to build parts that do more than sit on a desk and look cool. Because we design in SolidWorks and understand fabrication, machining, assembly, and real-world fitment, the goal is not just to make a print, it is to make a part that helps you make the next smart move.
Built for Real-World Prototyping
LVE RAD runs a versatile in-house printer lineup: the Bambu Lab X1E, Bambu Lab H2D, and large-format QIDI Max4. That gives us the flexibility to produce quick concept parts, multi-material prototypes, durable functional components, and larger one-piece prints without immediately splitting a model into a pile of sections.
Our largest single-piece print capacity is 390 × 390 × 340 mm (15.35"x15.35"x13.38") using the QIDI Max4.
The H2D supports up to 325 × 320 × 325 mm on a single nozzle, or up to 350 × 320 × 325 mm (13.78"x12.6"x12.8") total when using both nozzles under the applicable print configuration.
The old trusty X1E provides a 256 × 256 × 256 mm (10"x10"x10") build volume for efficient small-to-medium parts and batch production.
Need a bigger print size? We have a partnered shop who can print up to a cubic meter!
Materials We Can Print
Material selection depends on the part’s job: appearance, stiffness, impact resistance, heat exposure, UV resistance, chemical resistance, flexibility, or simply how fast you need it in your hands. Our printer capabilities cover standard prototyping polymers through high-performance, fiber-reinforced engineering materials.
- PLA and PLA-CF/GF. Fast concept models, visual prototypes, fixtures, display parts, and quick design checks
- PETG and reinforced PETG variants. General-purpose functional prototypes, brackets, enclosures, shop tools, and parts needing better toughness than PLA
- TPU Flexible mounts, bump stops, protective components, grips, gaskets, vibration-isolation concepts, and durable soft parts
- ABS, ASA, and reinforced variants. Automotive and off-road prototypes, durable housings, outdoor parts, UV-resistant applications, and higher-temperature functional components
- Nylon / PA, PA-CF, PA-GF, and other nylon composites. Tough, wear-resistant, high-strength parts, functional brackets, mounts, fixtures, and performance-oriented components
- Polycarbonate and reinforced PC composites. High-strength, heat-resistant parts, tooling, guards, enclosures, and demanding functional prototypes
- High-temperature composites: PPA-CF/GF, PPS, PPS-CF/GF, and PPS-CF where applicable. Serious engineering applications requiring high temperature capability, stiffness, chemical resistance, and structural performance
- Support materials: PVA and BVOH on compatible Bambu workflows. Dissolvable support for complex geometry, internal passages, and hard-to-reach features
The Bambu X1E and H2D list support for PLA, PETG, TPU, ABS, ASA, PC, PA, PET, carbon- and glass-fiber-reinforced variants, plus higher-performance PPA and PPS composite material families. The H2D also supports PVA and BVOH support materials. The QIDI Max4 supports PLA, PETG, ABS, ASA, TPU, PA, PC, and carbon- or glass-fiber-reinforced polymers; its 370°C nozzle and actively heated chamber support demanding engineering-grade materials, including PPS-CF.
What We Print
- Fast concept and form-study models before committing to tooling or fabrication
- Functional prototypes for fitment checks, installation validation, and real-world testing
- Automotive, truck, UTV, trailer, and off-road accessory prototypes
- Brackets, mounts, adapters, housings, ducting, guards, clips, covers, and interior components
- Fabrication jigs, drill templates, welding fixtures, locating tools, and assembly aids
- Low-volume production components where additive manufacturing makes more sense than machining or molding
- Composite layup tools, buck prototypes, mold patterns, and fabrication aids
- Replacement and legacy components that can be reverse engineered, redesigned, and printed in-house
- Multi-part assemblies, captured hardware features, and prototypes designed around real fasteners and installation requirements
From CAD to Parts That Matter
A rapid prototype should answer a question: Does it fit? Does it clear? Can it be installed? Does it flex too much? Is the shape right? Is it ready to send to fabrication, CNC, molding, or low-volume production?
LVE RAD can take your existing file or develop the part from scratch, then choose the material, orientation, wall thickness, infill strategy, and support approach around the job the part needs to do. For bigger designs, we can also engineer smart split lines, alignment features, mechanical joints, and assembly strategy, so a large prototype does not become a sketchy pile of glued-together plastic.
Whether you need one proof-of-concept part, a batch of functional prototypes, production fixtures for the shop, or low-volume printed components, LVE RAD brings CAD, manufacturing experience, and serious in-house printing capability together to get your product moving.
